Why not join us for our 18th Alpha course which
will be taking place on
Monday
evenings in Boughton
Monchelsea Primary School
commencing
4th February at 7pm.
The Alpha course began at Holy Trinity Brompton,
in London in 1992 with just 5 courses. Today,
20 years on, there are 55,000 registered
courses, and it is estimated that the attendees
word-wide are now at 17 million.
A recent poll revealed that 25% of Britons know
of Alpha and I wonder if that includes you? If
not, or you need reminding, let me tell you a
little about it.
The
Alpha Course is a 10 week practical introduction
to the Christian faith, addressing questions
such as ‘Who Is Jesus?’
‘Why Did Jesus Die?’ Why Read the
Bible?’ ‘Who Is the Holy Spirit?’
‘What Does He Do?’ ‘Does God
Heal?’.
Here at St Peter’s our evening Alpha
courses run along these lines:
7pm start with a meal, enjoyed in groups
of around 12;
then we listen to the talk on that
night’s subject;
after coffee there’s a chance to
discuss, or listen to others discuss, issues and
questions raised by that night’s talk; might
have raised; we finish at 9.45pm.
